As someone who changed his name just for fun when I thought I was still cis, i promise most people are ok with accepting a new name, even if you lie and say it’s a nickname. I promise. It’s really easy to just casually go “hey I wanna go by Bob now, it’s an old nickname I wanna bring back” like. Just start introducing yourself to new ppl, no one knows better. and if someone accidentally deadnames you just go haha no I go by my nickname now.
It sucks that ppl treat nicknames as more sacred than trans ppls choice names but still.

i hate when girls feel dumb for trying to see the best in people and then end up hurt or disappointed like no!! it’s those people that were dumb for misleading you. they took advantage of your kindness and generosity, and they’ll rot for it
thinking of the time I ordered olive garden online and I put “please speak to me in an Italian accent” in the special requests category and completely forgot about it, and when I went to pick it up the guy comes out and goes “eyyy I got-a your-a order bappada boopity!” and when I told him he didn’t actually have to do it he was like “a-nooo I was-a looking forward to it! I was-a the only one-a brave enough to do it!”
